Weather in Iceland
What to keep in mind regarding the Weather in Iceland.
Weather conditions change quickly in Iceland (all year round) so check the forecast for each day and remember although the island is small each area has it´s own climate.
Clothing and gear :
It can be difficult to recommend the right outfit for travelling as the Weather in Iceland changes very often.
During spring, summer and autumn a light rain coat can always come in handy. If you are bringing a back pack for the day tour, bring the coat along and we even recommend you bring waterproof pants (breathable if you plan to go hiking).
Sturdy boots are always good for hiking, especially in the muddy terrain and gravel in Iceland.
It can be cold and breezy so a good cap is useful and of course good gloves or mittens. It tends to quickly cool down in the afternoon or evening so if the plan is to stay out late those two might come in handy (even during summer).
A good sweater can be used as outer wear during summer if it´s not raining but keep you warm underneath a raincoat if it´s raining or windy.
During winter you´ll need an inner layer underneath your clothes and the wool has proven the warmest.
A flask for warm drinks:
A flask with warm water can be useful during winter travels, you can either use it to make hot drinks and sometimes it´s just useful to use on the road. You´ll never know when you need it during winter frost.
