I think it’s safe to say that Photographers 3 favourite conditions to shoot in Iceland are: Sunrise, Sunset and Northern Lights, and to be fair, this doesn’t fit nicely into a Day Tour. What you could do is to combine a Day Tour with a northern Light Tour, but that’s a massive day, great If you are up to it, then you get everything, but for many that’s just too much.
This Tour is a great option for those who want the best of both tours. As “normal” Northern lights Tours are around 4 hours, we are basically just finding dark enough places around Reykjavík, although nice they are not the Epic Locations you will see when seasoned Photographers are posting their work. On this Tour we will drive to some of those locations: Snaefellsnes, South Coast, Golden Circle or any other location within 2-3 hours from Reykjavík. Departure time is dynamic as sunset time is ever-changing in Iceland. We will be at our Sunset Location at least one hour before sunset, after sunset shoot we’ll have dinner and then the Northern Light hunt begins.
There are no quarantines here, even if the forecast and condition are perfect when we leave… we are in Iceland and nothing is give here weather vice. As for Northern lights, we make and educated guess when and where our best changes are… but keep in mind these are all predictions not promises 🙂
Northern Lights Photo Tour is always included in multi-day tours during winter.
